Scared of Santa!

My poor baby Walker is terrified of Santa. Not only does he scream whenever he is on his lap, but any time he is around something that is associated with Santa he puckers up and hides his head in my chest. He cried when a sales person who was helping me at Sears Hardware had a Santa hat on, and when Jim's uncle Kenny talked to him (He has a white beard). It truly is so bad I felt like sheltering him from it. So...thankfully now I don't have to dodge the Salvation Army workers anymore this season...not because I didn't want to give anymore money, but because my son was afraid of their hats. We would walk by and Walker would start crying and Wyatt would SCREAM at them "Merry Christmas!!"

Merry Christmas EVERYONE!!

My boys had a wonderful Christmas Day. Could we fit anymore toys in this house? I thought no, but Jim's mom LOVES Christmas so much that we now have half of Toys R Us in our living room. Thanks Mimi. Wyatt of course was a good boy and got his blue guitar and a Wii...which Daddy loves to play as much as Wyatt. I would love to get rid of this cold I have. It makes it oh so much more enjoyable for the holidays...swear you should try it. LOL!

Walker on the other hand, had no interest in the paper. He would play with the toys once they were uncovered. He isn't feeling well. As you can see by the picture he not only has a cold, but is cutting a bunch of teeth and constantly has his fingers or a toy in his mouth. Poor baby. Spending his first Christmas miserable. I am soaking up all of the cuddling though.

Wyatt is SO excited!

My son cannot get enough of Christmas. I thought Halloween was a treat, NOPE not even close. This boy is in love with Christmas. I was thinking today that his wife better be ready. He will be decorating their house someday until it looks like the elves workshop at the North Pole. He can't get enough shopping, wrapping, baking, giving, light looking, Santa sighting, singing, story telling and on and on. He loves every aspect of it and thank the Lord for that. If you need a little bit of Christmas Cheer, just come on over Wyatt is here for you. Any song you want to sing, or present that needs wrapped. He is your man. This just reminds me that this time in our lives...this very second is precious. You never know when it may end. I cherish every kiss under the mistletoe I get. That is right people...MY son brings the mistletoe to me and holds it up saying "I'm under the mistletoe Mommy...time for kisses!"

Christmas Tree Hunt

So all of you MUST remember the weekend after Thanksgiving. Saturday was beautiful. 43 and sunny. No freeze or wind to worry about...then came Sunday. THE ONLY DAY WE COULD ALL GET TOGETHER! Rain, Rain, go away...Come again...never on a Christmas Tree Hunt again. So this year Sarah and Hannah were here with me. I was never more excited than this year to go get a Christmas Tree. I had my sisters back, my nieces and my boys. What could be more exciting than for Daddy to have everyone present for the hunt. The forecast said there was a break in the rain...it lied! The picture says it all though. Good family fun, quickly done and out of there we were. I was literally telling Jim "I don't care just chop it and lets go!" So here is the family picture and I am honestly just happy we are all together. Thanks Sarah and Hannah for coming and indulging me. NEXT year I will pray starting...well now...that we don't have inclement weather. Love you two! Thanks Daddy for going anyway. Even though it is early. I know you love me when you get your Christmas tree just because I wanted mine before you did.

Seriously??? Snow???

I know it is OHIO and the weather changes about as much as I change Walker's diaper, but come on!! Snow? I sound like my mom now. I hate snow. I guess I should clarify...I hated driving in snow. It would be one thing if I was driving in Mount Vernon (or comparible area), but no...I get to drive in Columbus where the nut jobs reside! The crazies all decide to come out and go shopping or something when it snows. So I guess I should settle in for a long winter and try to relax when it comes to driving around here. Too bad I can't just reside in Mount Vernon when it snows...Hannah- wanna change places? You can handle it!!

Doughnuts Anyone??

Seriously??? What was he thinking? He was eating doughnuts for breakfast (I know, not healthy...but he loves them) and came up saying "Mommy look!!" This is what I got to clean up! Is this funny or what?

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone!! My boys are ready to go. Wyatt is at preschool having a trick or treat day and party. Then he gets to come home and go trick or treating with Zoey and Allie. He couldn't be happier! I hope everyone has a great day and enjoy the beautiful sunshine!!

Still Sick

This whole being sick and still having to be a mother is for the birds!! It has been almost a week now and we are all still hacking! I told Jim last night it was the first time I actually wished I was still single so I could sleep all day and get over the cold in a day or two...NOT A WEEK!

An Apple a Day?

So the entire house is sick. Of course being the Mom I am not allowed to be as sick as the others, but we are all sick. I thought that eating apples everyday was to keep the doctor away. When I told Wyatt this he replied "the doctor isn't here Mommy." I said "the need for the doctor is here though", he said "I don't need to see Dr. Karla today...I will get over it." So even though Dr. Karla isn't his pediatrician (she is a friend of mine I work with), he knows that he doesn't need to see her. I will work on the 'getting to know your real pediatrician' soon, I just think it is wonderful he loves Dr. Karla so much.

Same Ole Day

I am glad for "same Ole" days sometimes. Today I am finishing laundry and hoping to make it to the grocery store. As soon as Wyatt stuffs his PB&J into his mouth (because that is what he does!), we are on our way to Kroger. Sometimes our life gets too full of things that don't matter. I am glad for this sunny day when I can focus on my family.

No new news

Some weeks just fly by and then you think...my heavens what did I even do? My response to this question is "heck if I know...." I swear this week has been full of nothing, but lack of sleep, seeing TOO many non-sick/injured kids at work, and trying to curb a sassy mouth. The Lord gives patience and I think this week I had a super extra helping. I am just glad that this weekend is just a few hours away. BUT WAIT, my husband is golfing tomorrow. So guess what? My reprieve won't happen until Sunday!! Oh well....that is my job huh? The old saying "work until you drop," does that mean dead? Ha Ha

So in this dismay I remember I am truly blessed to be here with 2 amazingly beautiful boys, a wonderful husband whom I adore beyond belief and a family who is (almost) all with me. This year I get to celebrate things with sisters and I can't wait. It will all start with Halloween and trick or treating. I can't believe that it is all working out like I had hoped. Max(the neighbor kid) told Wyatt that he wouldn't be trick or treating with him this year. That all but broke Wyatt's heart. Because at 4yrs old you don't understand why your best bud would disown you like that. I told Wyatt that Zoey and Allie were coming and he said "That is WAY better than Max any day!!" I said "yes buddy, it is because Zoey and Allie will never leave you!"

Soooo, I am looking forward to Halloween, Thanksgiving and getting the Christmas tree. These things cannot come soon enough. And the warmth of my sisters hug...can't wait for that either.

"Wyatt, my buddy!"

My neice Zoey is close to Wyatt in age as well as close at heart. I have always thought this was great, but as they grow older the sentiment has grown as well. When they were 18 mo old Zoey came home for a visit with Hannah. When we walked in the door, she ran to Wyatt and gave him a huge hug. They then walked away from the grown ups and began to play. There has never been a time when Hannah and I have to constantly discipline these two. They came from the same mold in heaven I swear. They are only 5 weeks apart, and even closer at heart.

We went to Fall Fun at the Farm. This is an event that we look forward to every year. My Aunt Rose (my mom's sister) hosts this every fall on her farm. They have hayrides for the kids and make homemade doughnuts over the fire. Wyatt has always loved it and now this year we got to take Walker. So back to my story about Zoey and Wyatt... They were inseparable. They played all day and never fought once!! Zoey kept walking around saying "come on Wyatt, my buddy." or just "buddy are you ok?" It was so great to see them acting and playing so well together.

We are hoping it sticks, but so far we don't have to worry a bit. These two are meant to take care of each other for life and we can just sit back and see how God has fashioned them for each other. Thank you Lord for small favors.

Preschool Trials

Wyatt is having some trouble at preschool. He goes with his good friend and neighbor Max. Needless to say the teachers pulled me aside on the THIRD day of class and told me that Max and Wyatt are fighting. This has not stopped, but has drawn down to a trickle. They are separating the boys (which makes Wyatt feel rejected) and the fighting has decreased. (Not in close proximity=not poking at each other!) Yesterday Wyatt came home and said Max was not being nice to him. He wouldn't sit next to him at lunch!!! It took me back to my college days and people getting mad because someone didn't wait for them to go to the cafeteria. Wyatt my dear....it doesn't stop until you are 30! Even then you come across someone who wants to live in preschool! Hopefully you can grow up like your Daddy, let it roll off your back.

Great is Thy faithfulness oh Lord my God!

Cousin Fun

Well I am just in love with family. I love being around my family and doing things with them. It makes me so happy and secure. Last night our church had a Fall Festival. Hannah, Skye, Zoey and Allie came down and we had a ball...well I think we all had fun. Between running after the kids, rocking Walker to sleep (in the middle of a field) and spending too much money on food tickets, we had a ball. The kids got to jump on an inflatable jumper, go through a hay maze, play in a corn filled "sand" box, and paint pumpkins. They all had a ball and I can't believe how much Zoey and Wyatt STILL love each other. They were virtually inseparable. Now if we could just be patient and wait for a Scott cousin (which is very hard for me might I add), we will be complete. So for now here are pictures of the beginning of the "Johnson" cousins. Aren't you proud Mom and Dad?? We are. Love you!!

Frank is coming HOME!!!

My sister Sarah is coming home!!! I am so excited that I could burst. I have 2 great sisters who thought it would be cool to see different parts of the USA. I personally thought they were crazy, but they loved it. I on the other hand didn't even want to go away to college!! So Hannah lived in ND, and TX for 6 years and Sarah has been in AZ for almost 3yrs. Hannah came home in March (just after Walker was born), and Sarah is coming home in November. I am so happy that we will all be together again. I am crying just typing this! So the Johnson girls will be together this year for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Mom's Birthday, Skye's Birthday, Walker's Birthday...well you get what I am trying to say huh? Kind of excited I am....Love you Sab and Nan (aka Frank and Frannie)!

Whole New World

Wyatt went to preschool today for the first time. He did very well I might say...I on the other hand was ok. (I had a busy time and it passed quickly because I had to drive to Westerville and take Walker for his 6 mo. check up.)

We walked into the classroom, Wyatt ran over, found his cubby, put his backpack in it, ran and found his name tag and waved goodbye to me. He then ran to find something to play with and be with Max. Not a problem for the boy who kept crying and saying that he would miss me. Now I didn't really want tears, but a hug that was unprompted would have been nice. I had to ask him for a hug and kiss and when I told him I loved him, I don't think he heard me. He was playing with a new toy by then. My mom said I was the same way, except I told her I could go into the building by myself. At least Wyatt wanted me to walk him to the room!

New experiences

Wyatt went to meet his teachers this AM for preschool. He did so much better than I had originally thought. He has been crying and saying he will miss me for months now. He walked into the classroom, shook the hand of both teachers and then found some magnets to play with. The teacher asked him what made the balls stick to the magnet and Wyatt said "Magic!" The teacher said "No it isn't magic, it is science." Wyatt looked at her like "seriously...it is magic" then continued to play with it, ignoring her the whole time and concentrating on his magic. When his friend Max showed up it was ON!! The two of them tore open more games and found themselves in heaven playing with each other. So I guess I shouldn't worry too much about Wednesday. He should be just fine. I might be the only one with tears which is how it is supposed to be huh?

Seriously...I am just tired!

So I guess it is a question right now...."what is wrong?" Seriously, I am just tired. I mean really, truly tired. Down to the core; my body aches, I have headaches everyday, my belly is upset about 3/4 of the time and I have no nerves left. I am not complaining, just explaining. So, I personally think I am doing well with this. It is my calling after all to be a good Mom to my boys. So to the others in my life...I am so sorry. Please don't take it personally, but I am tired, exhausted, pooped...etc.

Taking care of the boys is enough, but working 3 days a week and seeing about 60-80 patients a day is really wearing me out. So if you could just have a little patience with me I would truly pay you back someday!!

On another note....we have banned Wyatt from playing with the neighbor girl Sydney. She is a trouble maker if you can call a girl that. She is a sassy little girl and continually displays a horrible attitude. Not just a little bit of the time...I mean all the time she is horrible. So Jim and I "grounded" Wyatt from playing with her for a couple of days and our beautiful little boy came back. No more temper tantrums and all the manners in the world. We allowed him to play with her for an hour one day and back came the horrible attitude. So, per my husband whom I love with all my heart, Wyatt is banned from playing with Sydney "for LIFE!!" Love it don't you??? Jim is finally putting his foot down and being firm. I am enjoying watching my husband grow out of his shell and becoming....like me! Ha Ha.

So if you have been around Wyatt lately...I am sorry, but he is back to his good mannered, very little whining, smiling, playful, no sassing self. It is so much nicer to only ask him to do something once or twice. Very nice. He starts preschool on Wednesday. So say a prayer for ME!

The "Tooth Doctor"

Today I took Wyatt to the dentist. He calls him the tooth doctor. He of course has perfect teeth thanks to his crazy mom who makes sure that every morsel is off of his teeth morning and night. The doctor was counting his teeth and Wyatt stopped him and said "You don't have to count them, I already did in the lobby...I have 20 just like last time." The doctor said "oh you do, huh?" Wyatt replied "yeah...I just want one to fall out so I can get a surprise under my pillow in the morning." I though the dentist was going to pee himself. Mind you all the while this conversation was going on, Wyatt was watching TV on the "roof" (ceiling) and not really paying attention to his words. It was hysterical.

Walker is cutting his first tooth now as well. By this age, Wyatt had 8 teeth so I have been anxiously awaiting Walker's first tooth. When it comes in all the way I'll take a picture and post it.

Following Suit

So since both of my sisters have blogged about Hannah's Birthday I will too...

I am so glad that you have finally come back to me Nan. I couldn't have been happier to see you and spend time with you on your birthday. It has been great having you back (even though you did think about leaving me again...silly girl!!) and now all we need is Sarah and we can be set again.

I agree that we are blessed and every day I think how much more God has in store as well. It is so awesome to know that we serve a Loving God. He is our protector and giver of good things. His Love is enough and I try to remember that everyday.

Walker is still not eating, Wyatt is still whining, Jim can't get out of the house on time for anything, and I get no sleep....But God is GOOD!! Ha Ha Ha

Sleep Anyone????

I am able to function because of my Saviour Jesus Christ...and by his grace only do I go through each and everyday without collapsing. I am being serious. Last night I think I got about 4 hrs of sleep...not in a row either. My baby son Walker is having some problems sleeping and eating. Yet, he is still one of the happiest babies I have ever come in contact with. He just can't stay asleep for longer than a couple of hours. So by the time I get up with him, fix him and then slunk back to my bed....I have to get up again and fix another problem.

ATTENTION....sassy comment coming your way!
Jim's uncle passed away Wednesday. Last night was calling hours and today the funeral. I would just like to say out loud that going to a funeral is not for the person who is with Jesus (hopefully), it is for the people left behind. To those who don't take the time to realize that it is a loss on the family left behind...well just stop being selfish. People are to be here for each other...not to fulfill their own agenda. Ok enough of the soap box. Wanna know the story...call me.

So if you are so inclined...please pray for sleep, not rain.

Living day to day

The life of mother is one of great prestige, comfort, joy and most of all work. My boys are my life...that includes you J. I love my family with my whole heart. I can't imagine being anywhere but here in this moment. I thank God every single day for giving me the gift of my husband and then the enormous gift and privilege of these boys.

I grew up with 2 sisters. (MY BESTEST FRIENDS btw!!-- you too Mom!) Having 2 boys was Gods way of showing me the other side of the earth. I am telling you right now...learning boys is the hardest thing I have ever done. Nursing school aside that is.... Boys get into things that is not in your thought process. They get dirty, messy and love to create chaos. BUT...my son Wyatt (4yrs) is the most loving and caring individual you may ever meet at this age. His heart is so big I can't imagine him being OK with anything unless everyone is happy. He truly cares about the heart of others even at this tender age. For example...My Dad went to Oregon to be with his brothers for 5 days. My son cried when he learned that Pop Pop was leaving Grammy and invited her to stay with him so she wouldn't be alone. It is truly the sweetest thing to watch my son LOVE my Mom so much. I am glad that all the grandparents are still here for him. I didn't get that growing up so I am so happy my boys get to be with their grandparents. Walker on the other hand has a mouth on him. He can yell with the best of them. I swear he talks more than any other baby I have met, reminding me of when I would call Hannah and Allie would be screaming in the background at her. He can keep up a conversation and LOUDLY...We went to a restaurant the other day with friends of ours and the entire time he was talking so loud we were yelling across the table at each other. He is a trip. He also is the happiest baby. Which is so nice for us. It is always good to come in the bedroom in the morning to smiling and his arms and legs flinging around like crazy!! No other time do I truly feel loved as much as getting Walker out of bed in the AM. Then Wyatt will come around the corner and say "Good morning Mommy...where is Daddy?" =)

So between telling Wyatt to stop blowing horns in the house and trying to get Walker to eat (such a burden for me right now) I will try to keep up on this so that you can see what is going on here in Halseyville.

Love to all near and far!
